How IndexGraph works
Websites and slots, what a run costs you, when your allowance resets, how the scores are calculated, and what to do when a number says “not measured”. If something here does not answer your question, contact us.
Getting started
What does IndexGraph actually measure?
Two different things, and it is worth keeping them apart. SEO — On-Page and Technical — is about how classic search engines crawl and rank a page. AI search readiness — GEO and AEO — is about whether ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews can reach your content, understand what your brand is, and cite you in an answer.
A site can score well on one and badly on the other. That is normal, and the report separates them for exactly that reason.
How do I run my first audit?
Enter a URL on the home page and run the audit. The report opens with the combined score at the top and four sections beneath it — On-Page SEO, Technical SEO, GEO and AEO. Each finding tells you what was checked, what was found, and what to change.
To use the GEO and AEO tools against your own site, add it under Account → Websites first. That registration is what proves the site is yours.
Do I need to add a website to audit a competitor?
No. Competitor-facing tools — Compare with Competitors, Competitor Citations — run against any domain and count against your monthly competitor audit allowance. Tools that change or deeply analyse a site you own require the domain to be registered to your account.
Websites, slots and rotation
What is the difference between active and registered websites?
Registered is every site on your account, including paused ones. Active is how many can be worked on at once. Pausing a site keeps its history and frees an active slot; removing it deletes the registration.
| Plan | Active | Registered | New sites per cycle |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard | 2 | 4 | 2 |
| Pro | 3 | 6 | 3 |
| Premium | 5 | 10 | 5 |
Why can’t I add a site when I have a free active slot?
Adding a site spends a slot for the cycle as well as taking an active slot, and the two are counted separately. The per-cycle allowance stops a plan being rotated through dozens of domains in a month.
Pausing or removing a site gives the active slot back but does not refund the cycle slot. If the cycle allowance is spent, the next add waits for the reset date shown on the Websites page.
What does pausing a site do?
A paused site stops being audited and frees an active slot, while its registration and history stay in place. Resuming needs a free active slot but costs nothing.
Pausing only affects sites you registered. Running a tool against a domain you never registered — a competitor, say — is unaffected.
Runs, refreshes and resets
How many times can I run each tool?
Per billing cycle, by plan. A dash means the tool is not included on that plan.

The main SEO audit of your own registered sites is not metered — these limits cover the tools that call an AI engine on every run.
What is the difference between an audit and a refresh?
An audit is the first analysis of a URL. A refresh re-runs it later against the live page, so you can check whether a fix worked. Both call the engine, so both are counted — but they draw on separate allowances, which is why you may have refreshes left after your audits are spent.
Where a tool shows a counter, it reads “1/7 audits used · 0/7 refreshes used · resets 11 Oct”. Tools without a counter use the same allowances from the table above.
When does my monthly allowance reset?
On the same day of the month that your account was created, in UTC — not on the 1st, and not on the day you subscribed. An account created on the 11th resets on the 11th of every month. Where a month is short, the reset falls on its last day.
Unused runs do not carry over, and cancelling or changing plan does not move the reset day.
What happens when I hit the cap?
The tool tells you the allowance is spent and stops. Nothing is charged, nothing is lost, and the rest of the product keeps working. You can wait for the reset or move to a plan with a higher allowance.
There is also a spend ceiling per cycle behind the scenes, as a backstop against runaway automated use. Normal use does not reach it.
Understanding the scores
How is the combined score calculated?
30% GEO Readiness, 25% AEO Readiness, 25% On-Page SEO, 20% Technical SEO. Any section that could not be measured is excluded and the rest re-weighted, so the headline number is never propped up by a section that never ran.
The full breakdown — every check, its weight, and what feeds which pillar — is on the scoring methodology page.
Why does something say “not measured” instead of 0?
Because they mean different things. 0 means we looked and found nothing. Not measured means we could not look — the page did not respond, a source was unavailable, or the tool has not been run yet.
Reporting a 0 in that situation would be inventing a result, and you would act on it. So the number is withheld, and the score is re-weighted around the gap.
Why did my GEO score change without me changing anything?
The GEO tools score blends in results from the GEO tools you have run in the last 90 days. Running a new tool adds a measured input; a result ageing past 90 days drops out. Both move the score without the site changing.
If too little has been measured to be meaningful, the score is withheld rather than reported from a thin sample.
Two scores disagree — which one is right?
Both, usually, because they measure different things. The headline GEO Readiness score is your site’s own signals — crawlability, structure, entity coverage. The GEO tools score summarises what the individual tools found. A site can be technically well-prepared and still rarely cited, which is precisely the gap worth acting on.
Plans, billing and coupons
How do I apply a coupon code?
Enter it on the checkout screen before paying. A valid code shows the discounted amount before you confirm; if it is rejected the original price stands and checkout still goes through, so a bad code never blocks a purchase.
Codes are usually limited to one use per account and to a set number of billing cycles. When that period ends the subscription continues at the standard plan price — you will not be charged the discounted rate indefinitely, and nothing is cancelled automatically.
What happens when I change plan?
Feature access changes immediately. Allowances follow your plan from the next reset onward, and runs already spent in the current cycle stay spent. Your reset day does not move.
How do I cancel?
Email support@indexgraph.ai and we will cancel the subscription. Access continues to the end of the cycle you have paid for.
